The Stamford Housing Authority shall develop and operate its properties in a manner that furthers the social and economic well-being of its residents.

The mission of the Stamford Housing Authority is:

VISION STATEMENT

The Stamford Housing Authority has established an operating standard that far exceeds providing minimal housing and shelter for its resident population.   It has gone further to leverage capital resources into sustainable programs for the economic self-sufficiency and independence of residents.  It has created and implemented a variety of homeownership assistance programs that will enable renters to achieve the dream of becoming homeowners.

The Stamford Housing Authority has made a permanent commitment toward the revitalization and expansion of Stamford’s public housing properties.  Moreover, in lower Fairfield County, both low and middle income households have limited affordable housing choices. Consequently, Federal/State supported housing remains a primary option for a significant segment of the community.  We believe that, with our available assets in human and financial capital, we can fully rejuvenate Stamford’s family public housing and create a resource in which we, the community and, most importantly, the residents will take pride.  It is our hope and expectation that, by creating additional new housing units and revitalizing our existing properties, we will not only serve the needs of current families but also preserve this valuable resource for future generations.
